Why manage your EVBox stations

3 Benefits of Managing Charging Sessions
  1. Automated billing
We understand that managing multiple charging stations (across various locations) may involve quite a bit of work. This is why we automate the billing and settlement of all charging sessions with your staff and/or leasing partners—so all you need to do is focus on what matters most to you.
  2. Efficient power consumption
We make it our goal to maintain safe and energy-efficient charging at all times, without affecting any of your appliances at home or facilities in the workplace. Avoid unnecessary costs and get the most out of your charging stations in case of limited power capacity with our Smart Charging features, such as Hub / Satellite, Load Balancing, and Peak Shaving.
  3. Configurable features
Set variables for the LED ring indication, kWh-/start tariffs, and (de)activation times to accommodate your business hours, your staff’s and customers’ charging habits, as well as to ensure safe and responsible charging.

FAQ

No doubt you’ll come across these words in your search for a charging station. It defines all intelligent functionalities in our charging stations that help you to optimize the charging process, making it an indispensable feature for operators of multiple charging points. Smart Charging creates and distributes the available power in an efficient and flexible manner. Thanks to this, you’ll be able to avoid unnecessary costs such as overcapacity fees charged by grid operators, and you’ll get the most out of your charging stations in case of limited power capacity, any time, any place.

Hub / Satellite operates multiple stations cost effectively. This configuration connects up to 20 charging points per location through a single communication device, which substantially improves and facilitates the management of all charging stations.

Load Balancing distributes the available capacity per location proportionally over all connected charging stations that use this service. By doing so, it ensures that every car is optimally charged within the limits of your charging stations’ and facility’s capacity.

Peak Shaving prevents overcapacity and peak usage so you can avoid overcapacity fees. This service allows you to set up a maximum capacity for your charging stations during the day. This way, you ensure that you won’t exceed the limits of your property’s maximum capacity, even during peak hours.

Your charging station consumes power and you pay your energy supplier for this consumption. By setting a tariff on your charging station, you can charge this consumption to your employer or others that are using your charging station(s). Please note that it is not permitted in the Netherlands for private individuals to make a profit on energy/power. Only companies can set up tariffs for their guests and clients.

As a commercial/business owner of a charging station, you're allowed to set up various tariffs, depending on your subscription:
Start tariff: The start tariff is a fixed amount charged at the start of each charging session. For security reasons, this amount is only charged if the driver has been charging for at least 3 minutes. Example: A charging station can have a €0,50 start tariff, meaning that you will pay that initial fee after 3 minutes of charging your car, in addition to the kWh or time tariff the charging station might have.
kWh tariff: The kWh tariff is an amount charged per electricity consumption every hour. Example: Your electric car has a battery of 7.6 kWh. You connect your car to a charging station that maintains a tariff of €0,20 kWh for a full hour. The total costs of your charging session would be €1,52.

Yes. To promote fair and competitive pricing, each subscription has its own thresholds. When selecting a tariff or subscription in the BackOffice, you will see an overview of the limitations. Rates per kWh are regulated by law. Rates have to be checked before approval. If everyone could set their own tariff, we would reach a point where no one would be able to drive electric at an affordable price. To prevent this from happening, EVBox maintains a maximum for all customizable tariffs.
